2nd and 3rd week of September

This week I put Deanne Bray's answer into a blank screen and put it into my documentary. I have added Aerosmith's Don't wanna miss a thing to the background and have then added I clip after of somebody signing to this song.

3rd week of July

This week I began editing what I have filmed and the youtube footage I have collected so far in order to give myself an idea as to how my documentary is going.

2nd week of July

This week I filmed Michelle in order to get a hearing person's view of deaf people. I think this will be very helpful as it will give different points of view.

1st week of July

This week I completed the questions I am going to ask Deanne Bray I have gotten rid of a question regarding the miss deaf world competition and have added the question how do you think deaf people are perceived. I then emailed her these questions which will be of great help to me as it will give me a second insight to how it is to be deaf.

3rd and fourth weeks of July

Over these two weeks I have thought of all the information I want to get from Deanne Bray and based on this I decided what I am going to ask her. This just a plan so the questions I am going to ask her may change slightly.

3rd week of May

This week I have planned out what I will ask Jo (a deaf woman) in my interview. I then completed the interview which will be very helpful as I need to have footage I have filmed myself as part of my documentary. It will also help me gain the point of view of a deaf person and theredor allow me to find out how it feels to have a hearing impairment.

1st and 2nd week of May

This week I have found youtube footage which I am planning to use in my documentary . I have made some changes to and completely finished my storyboard. I think that these things will be very helpful to me as a storyboard is a vital part of making a film of any sort and the youtube footage will help me to get my point across.

23rd February

This is the research I collected on documentaries: British documentary is traced back from nineteenth century print journalism, early photography and eighteenth century print journalism. Documentaries emerged around the year 1906 and from then on quickly established a theme which focused on the British working life culture.

A documentary voice over is a commentary by the filmmaker, which is said as the documentary id being or added to it during the production. The voice over allows the filmmaker to speak directly to the viewer giving explanations, information and their own opinions.

A common technique used in documentary is the interview. It allows people in the documentary to speak directly about events and answer questions asked by the filmmaker. It may occur on or off screen or on a different set.

The first filmmaker to use the term documentary was John Grierson in 1926 to refer to any nonfiction film medium including travelogues and instructional films. By definition the earliest moving pictures were documentaries they were single- shot moments captured on film. These films were calls actuality films, as the name documentary was not used until 1926. Many of the first films, like the ones made by Auguste and Louis Lumière are a minute or less in length.

Travelogue films were very popular in the early 20th century. Some of these were known as "scenics". They were among the most popular sort of films at the time. The 1914 film In the Land of the Head Hunters was an important early film to move beyond the concept of the scenic

All documentaries should have a bias which the voiceover will constantly refer back to.

Monday 23rd February

Today I researched the codes and conventions of documentary aswell as the history and what defines documentary.
